On Monday, March 4, 2019, the good Lord above called home one of the finest men He ever created. Earl D. Hall was born at noon on Thursday, September 5, 1935. He arrived five minutes before his twin brother, Gearld. In his opinion this made him the older, wiser, more handsome of the two. Earl was the third son of seven children born to Hulon and Willie Hall. He was born and raised on a ranch in Garita, NM in a house built of sandstone with a window made from an old model A. He spent time in his teen years picking cotton around Littlefield, TX.
In 1954 he stayed a short time with his sister in south valley Albuquerque where he met his true love. The first time he saw her, she was a pretty little thing sitting on a bucket of cucumbers. He knew then he was smitten, and he faithfully waited three years for her hand.
Earl married Patsy Jane Lawson on June 22, 1957. They built a loving home and raised three wonderful children. He loved to fish and hunt and spend time with his family. He was so proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He never met a stranger and always had a story to tell.
Earl was also a faithful provider. He worked 27 years for Hydro Conduit as a supervisor of the pipe plant. He led his crew with unquestionable character and integrity. Earl led by example in everything he did.
Due to disability, Earl retired early and began his second career--that of chief cook and bottle washer. He was proud of his dish pan hands and fabulous cooking skills. He was best known for his “Hunt for clam” chowder, sauerkraut salad, and peanut butter candy and fudge. He found great joy in working in his woodshop building cedar chests and wood carvings for all the people he cared for.
Earl D. Hall is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Patsy Jane; sons, Denny and wife, Terri, and Randy and girlfriend, Dee; daughter, Patti Bitting and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Allison and RJ Kemp, Alisha and Ryan Madrid, Petty Officer 1st Class Alaina Hall, WO1 Dustin and Laura Hall, Natalie Bitting, HN1 Robin and Petty Officer 3rd Class Cameron Bowen and Nathaniel Bitting; great-grandchildren, Landon Kemp, P.J. Hall, and Jackson Earl Hall; sister, Joy Blaylock; brother, Gearld and wife, Rosie Hall; and numerous family and dear friends far and wide.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hulon and Willie Hall; and siblings, Lamar, Kenneth, Jean, and Leland.
