Douglas P. Oliver

Age 55, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, left us on Sunday, December 29, 2013. He is survived by his life long friend and wife of 37 years, Joanna Oliver; three children, daughter, Jennifer Opell and husband, Tim,son, Daniel Oliver, son, Adam Oliver and wife Dawn and was a devoted "Papa" to four grandchildren, Julia Romero, Jason Opell, Zane Oliver and Paige Oliver. Doug is also survived by his mother, Pauline D. Oliver; 7 siblings, David Oliver and wife Pam, Debi Pearce, Diana Sigler and husband Michael, Duke Oliver and wife Linda, Denise Sigler and husband John, Donna Burkhammer, Dawn Hoffman and husband Kevin and an endless list of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Doug was preceded in death by his father, Major General Earl D. Oliver, United States Army (Ret) . He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Richard Oliver. Doug was a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church, the NRA and was an avid Nascar fan. Doug had a great respect for family, his country and all who served. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 3100 Morris St NE, with Pastor Larry Miller officiating. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit FRENCH - Lomas, Friday, January 03, 2014 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association 47-1's Special Project Fund in c/o Community Foundation of Southern NM, "Vets helping Vets, to support and defend those who have defended our country and our freedoms" .
