Douglas Arthur Farrar, 73, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, April 2, 2023. Doug was born on August 4, 1949, in South Bend, Indiana to Richard and Phyllis Farrar.
Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, landscaping, woodcarving, gardening, photography, Celtic music, fish n' chips, ice cream, and a good cold beer. He loved his wife, Ann dearly and absolutely adored his daughter, Sara, and grand and great-grandchildren. He owned his own roofing business and had a strong work ethic and reputation for the high quality he held to his work. He loved his country and valued his freedom. He had a very strong Christian faith. He observed the Sabbath every week spending the day reading the Word and resting. He often shared the Word with his children and grandchildren, making sure to guide them to the Bible and cautioning them of worldly translations.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; daughter, Sara and her husband, David Frederick; father, Richard; sister, Pam and her husband, Kevin Gutzwiller; brother, Phil and his wife, Anne; sisters-in-law, Mary and her husband, Jerry Folts and Paula and her husband, Kelly Morris; grandchildren, Tyler and his wife, Karissa Talmadge and Cassie Frederick; his great-grandchildren, Grace, Jack, and Henry; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his pup; Abby. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis; father-in-law, John; mother-in-law, Mona Colene; sister-in-law, Mona; and his beloved pup, Molly.
A service celebrating the life of Doug will be held Friday, April 14, 2023, 10:00 a.m., at Sagebrush Northeast Heights, 7500 Montgomery Blvd. NE 87109. Reception information will be provided at the service.
