Dorothy Maxine Vanderslice was born on Wednesday, August 4, 1926, to Archie Leo and Lutreacy Ann Conaway in Major County Oklahoma. She passed away into the arms of Jesus, her Savior on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Clyde Robert Vanderslice of Waynoka, Oklahoma; as well as her parents; siblings; son-in-law, James Good and numerous friends. Dorothy grew up on a farm in Oklahoma helping her family with the usual milking of the cows and feeding the chickens, as well as helping her mother in the kitchen and father in the fields. She grew up with compassionate and giving parents who would always help friends and relatives in need, and she carried on that example throughout her life. At the age of 18, she aided in the World War II effort as a "Rosie the Riveter" to build/assemble the Boeing B-29's in Wichita, KS. After the passing of her husband, she became a very independent woman and lived alone until her passing. She still drove herself to the beauty shop and the grocery store. She was an original member of the Montgomery Place Church of God and served the Lord and her church family faithfully all her life. She is survived by her children, son Michael Robert Vanderslice and wife, Brenda; daughter, Robin Clydeen Good; son, Merrick Simmons Vanderslice and wife, Tania; daughter, Lutreca Gale Hazen and husband, Daniel; daughter, Dana Kay Pena and husband, Gary; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 4 great- great- grandchildren. Dorothy was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother and friend. We rejoice with Mom as she rejoins her husband and celebrates her first Christmas with Jesus.
