Dorothy Smith Armstrong Troy, a coal miners daughter born in Benham, KY in 1928 passed away at the age of 93.

Dorothy was preceded in death by husbands, Russell Troy and John Armstrong; son, Walter Lee Armstrong; parents, Walter and Anna Smith; and sisters, Gladys and Mary Ruth.  She is survived by sons, Richard and John Armstrong III; daughter, Carla (Mark) Ridenour; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three stepchildren.

A longtime resident of Albuquerque, since 1929, she graduated from AHS in 1945. She met and married John Armstrong, MSGT USAF. They traveled to various military bases and raised four children.  After a career with VA Hospital and KAFB, she retired with 22 years civil service. She was a member of NARFE, Chapter 80. She has enjoyed traveling and square dancing. She was a member of Northdale Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Library or the Blind, Santa Fe, NM.  Dorothy will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
