Dorothy M. Rostro, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Bernalillo on Monday, November 7, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, David E. Rostro; parents, Mariano and Sofia Pino; and her brother, Joe Pino.
Dorothy was born in Denver, CO and raised in Las Vegas, NM. She and her husband moved to Bernalillo in 1951 and were blessed with six children - Dave and wife, Christine, Patsy and husband, Robert, Paul, James, Sabrina and husband, Efren and Cynthia and husband, Gary.
Dorothy loved her family and was a wonderful and giving grandmother to 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was a devoted Catholic and worshiped at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish where she was a member of the Spanish Choir. Dorothy was a member of the Bernalillo Women's Club for over 50 years. She was employed and retired from the Bernalillo Public Schools. Dorothy loved company and opened her home to all.
There are no words to express how much she will be missed by her family and friends, but her love for life will live on in each and every one of us.
Pallbearers will be Dorothy's grandsons - Lorenzo Rostro, Matthew Rostro, Carlos Rostro, David Rostro, Kevin Saiz, and Brandon Saiz. Honorary pallbearer will be Kenneth Saiz.
Rosary will be recited on Sunday, November 13, 2106 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 301 S. Camino Del Pueblo, Bernalillo. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Sorrows, followed by burial.
