Dorothy Marie (Ritz) Rice

Dorothy Marie Rice, born February 5, 1931 passed away peacefully on April 17, 2021 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Anna Ritz, her brothers, Thomas and Michael Ritz, and her loving husband of 62 years, Daniel Thomas Rice. She is survived by her three children, Helenann, Daniel Jr. and Eugene Thomas: grandchildren Shawn Paterniti and wife, Miya, Cecilia Skalski and husband, Joe, Annie Rice, Nicholas Rice and great-grandchildren Alexander Skalski, Annemarie Skalski, Abigale Paterniti, Alea Paterniti and Alison Rice.

Dorothy loved children and animals. There was often a chicken, turtle or cat resting on her lap. She was happiest when her home was filled with family and friends which was enjoyed by all especially at Christmas and to celebrate the Super Bowl.

Dorothy was a successful business owner and a trusted friend.

Dorothy will be missed by many who crossed her path. May her memory be eternal.

In lieu of flowers, family has asked donations be made to their local Humane Society.
