Dorothy Irene (Blegen) Olson

Dorothy “Dottie” Irene Olson, age 95, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.  She was born on July 13, 1923 to Peter L. and Leona Blegen.  She is survived by her sisters, Florence Evelyn Sweeney of Watertown, WI, Jean Rosamond Yagobian of Sun Lakes, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Lt. Col. Harold W. Olson. Dorothy was a Past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile, Yucca Temple No. 74 and a Past President of the Retired Officers Women’s Club.  A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 24, 2018 ,10:00 a.m. at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 211 Jefferson NE, Albuquerque, NM and burial will be in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.  In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Ballut Abyad Shrine Transportation Fund, PO Box 8410, Albuquerque, NM 87198 or to St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church.
