Dorothy Alice Moore

Dorothy Alice Moore, 91, with much sadness, Gwendolyn Kay and Trula Lynn Moore announce the passing of their beloved mother Dorothy Alice Moore on January 13, 2021.  Dorothy was born February 18, 1929 to James Elmer and Trula Byrd Farrar in Seventysix, MO in Perry County.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Helen Farrar; her parents; her sister, Marion Alma Boaz; step-mother, Gladys Farrar; and her brother, James William Farrar.  She was also preceded in death by her former husband, George Ira Moore, and was looking forward to seeing him in heaven.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, sisters, Anna Lou Oberndorfer, Ruth Alene Manns;  sister-in-law, Ruby Jean Hughes; many nieces and nephews; a daughter of the heart, Liz Lightner; a son of the heart, DeWitt Bolden; a great-granddaughter of the heart, Crystal Rose; and her grand-fur babies, Sha, Ellie, Hershey, Boots, Dracula and Shiloh.  She was welcomed at the rainbow bridge by her many fur babies of the past.

Mrs. Moore loved country music, dancing and shopping "could she shop !" but most of all she loved her daughters and always tried to give them everything she could.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her daughters would like to thank her caregivers at Compassus Hospice especially Barbara, Rachel, Rita and Loa who always treated her with kindness, love and respect.  "We could not have made it without you wonderful ladies".

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dorothy's name to The American Cancer Society,  The American Diabetes Association or the local Animal Humane of your choosing.

Due to COVID restrictions and celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
