Dorothy Carlough Monks, age 90, a resident of Albuquerque, entered into eternal slumber on March 11, 2014. She is survived by her son, Dennis Monks and wife, Karen of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Chris and wife Allyssa of Edmond, OK, Kim of Albuquerque, Brittney and husband Ryan of Albuquerque, Laray and husband Josh of Albuquerque; and great-grandchildren, Victoria, Aidan, Joey, Ellana, Mason and Draven. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Theodore; four brothers and four sisters. She was born in Campgaw, NJ. She married and moved to Pompton Lakes, NJ where they raised their son, Dennis. Dorothy was employed by Cooper Laboratories until she retired to sunny Beverly Hills, Florida, that is! Where they lived until Theodore passed. She then moved to Albuquerque to be with her family. She was actively involved in The Kitchen Jug Band at Palo Duro Senior Center and their chorus. She sang with the choir at New Covenant United Methodist Church. She was a loving, caring, clever and adventurous wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was an excellent cook, baker, seamstress and a master of many talents, too many to list. A celebration of life will be Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 8510 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113, with light refreshments immediately following. Where we will not say good-bye, but so long.
