Dorothy McConkey

Age 89, a resident of Albuquerque, NM died Friday, September 21, 2012. She is survived by daughter, Carol A. Martin of Des Moines, IA, son, Roy V. (Linda) McConkey III of Moriarty, NM, son, Jon A. McConkey of Worden, MT; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Darwin Palmer of Barnes City, IA, sister-in-law, Ettwyole Sanders of Wellman, IA. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Marion Arthur Palmer, mother, Mabel Isador Palmer, and husband, Roy V. (R.V.) McConkey Jr. She and RV raised their family in Iowa, moved to Colorado for more than 20 years before coming to New Mexico. They spent several years doing volunteer work through the Presbyterian Church in several states, especially with Menaul School. Dorothy was known for always having a smile on her face and a ready hand to help. Services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012, 10:30 a.m., at Second Presbyterian Church, 812 Edith Blvd. NE.
