A beautiful saint on earth has been asked to become our guardian angel in heaven. Dorothy "Dot" Maestas entered eternal life on November 12, 2014. She was with her tremendously caring and supportive husband, David Maestas. She was born on January 8, 1950 and is preceded in death by her loving mother, Regina Aragon who gave selflessly of herself; her granddaughter, Chantel Maestas; and many other loving and caring family members she can now see again. She is survived by her husband; children, Danielle, David Jr., Darren, Dominic, and Derek; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several family members. She worked for and retired from the County of San Miguel as the Deputy County Assessor. She was a professional with undeclared college credit who ran her office and her home with an incomparable heart for the people around her. Countless people were touched by Dorothy throughout her life. She made sure to attend all of her children's functions and numerous functions for her grandchildren. She opened her home and her heart to everyone who approached. She was the center of people's hearts and a hero to many because they could feel her love and admire her courage. She was unbelievably strong and fought hard against illnesses; but not for herself, rather for the loved ones she didn't want worrying about her. Her faith was without measure and everyone was the center of her prayers. She spent more time praying for family and friends than she did for herself. Rosary and Mass services will be held Friday, November 21, 2014 at Sangre de Cristo Church, 8901 Candelaria Rd.
