Dorothy Ruth Durante

Dorothy Ruth Durante was welcomed into the Kingdom of God on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the age of 80. Dorothy was born on December 5, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ to Walter and Dorothy Vogel. Dorothy was a longtime member of Hosanna Assemblies of God Church in Los Lunas. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Dorothy was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend to everyone she knew. She considered her family to be her greatest achievement. She enjoyed writing and was a talented poet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Grumpy" Durante, Sr.; her parents, Walter and Dorothy Vogel; and her sister, Diane Housweart. She is survived by her children, Don Durante, Jr. and wife, Linda, Diana Baird and husband, Bill, Dennis Durante, Dan Durante, Dawn Durante, Dory Durante and wife, Tracy and Charlie Richards and wife, Mitzie; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Walter Vogel.

Dorothy married Don Durante, Sr. on June 25, 1955 and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage. She was the co-owner of Peralta Power Equipment since it's opening in 1975. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017, 1:00 p.m., at Westside Family Chapel, 630 Taylor Rd in Los Lunas, with Lynn Davis officiating.
