Doris Elaine Jurgensen

Doris Elaine Jurgensen, age 92, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023. She was born in 1931. She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Scheitlin in 1949. Their young marriage ended when Thomas died in 1952. She married for the second time to Robert J. Jurgensen in 1955. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Robert, Donna, and Kenneth. Doris enjoyed being a homemaker and mother to her three children. Her life is remembered and celebrated, not so much in what she did but in who she was. She was best known for her untiring love of family, her unfailing fairness, and her love for God. She was so proud of her family. Grandma J. is very loved and will always be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2011 and her sister, Virginia Frederick in 2013. Mrs. Jurgensen is survived by her children, Robert G. and Nanette Jurgensen of Albuquerque; Donna Nelson and husband, William Rinehart of Albuquerque; Kenneth and Bea Jurgensen of Santa Fe; her ten grandchildren, Nathan, Phillip, Stephen, Timothy, Brian, Becki, Jill, Eric, Amber, and Stephanie; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center, St. Louis, MO 63141, or to Faith in Christ Lutheran Church - LCMS PO Box 23291, Albuquerque, NM 87192.
