Doris M. Derden

Doris Beverly (Musgrave) Derden, Age 85, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1993 and a former resident of Houston, TX, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Edward Derden; daughter, Kathie Derden Bailey of Houston, TX; granddaughter, Ashley Taylor Derden Watterson and husband, Jeremy of Houston, TX; and many friends in Texas and New Mexico. Doris was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Gregory Young Bailey. She attended Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Doris retired from the Houston Symphony in 1993. She was a violinist. She had also played for the Roswell Symphony. Mrs. Derden traveled the world with different symphonies and recorded with many symphonies. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 11:00 am at FRENCH - Rio Rancho. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
