Doris Daigle, 90, beloved Mother and Wife, went home to her God on May 5, 2016. She was born on October 12, 1925 in Manchester, NH, to Eloi and Emma Bergeron. She is survived by her Husband of 68 years, Joseph; three sons, Paul, (wife Nancy), Dana, (wife Dacia) and Brian; daughters, Colette (husband Jim) and Nanette (husband Don). She was the proud Memere of Rachael, Helen, Luke, JT, Chad, Kris and Trent. Doris was great grandmother to Hunter, the newest member of the family. She is also survived by her three brothers; Richard, Bobby and David; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her sister, Eloise preceded her in death.
Doris was a vivacious, fun-loving polka dancer and a wonderful cook. Her greatest joy was in having all of her family around the dinner table. She was a model military wife who instilled a fierce sense of loyalty in her children. "Home is where the heart is" was her favorite saying as she accompanied her husband around the country and around the world.
Mrs. Daigle attended the University of Maryland overseas program while living in France and was a Dean's List Honor student. She also served as an interpreter during that time for many official functions, a duty she would repeat once back in the United States when the French Air Force Chief of Staff would make official visits to the base.
Doris was always active in church and community projects and taught her children the art of giving back. Many a security troop will remember her serving hot coffee and cookies out on the flight line and in security areas on sub-zero nights in North Dakota. She was a familiar face and roll model to many young service wives who were learning how to cope with the idiosyncrasies of military life.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Ross Downey from the Heart Hospital for his excellent care, along with Nurse Heather, as well as the staff of the ICU at Lovelace Women's Hospital for their care and compassion at the time of her passing.
