Age, 92, returned to the arms of our Lord on January 17, 2013, and has been reunited with her beloved husband Sebern and precious son Larry. At Irene's request, graveside services have been held at Sandia Memory Gardens in Albuquerque with family in attendance. Born in Putnam County, Indiana, Irene came west in 1947 when her husband helped build the road that would become Route 66 through Tijeras Canyon. Later, the two would found Cole Tree Service which served Albuquerque for decades. Irene is survived by her sisters Wilma Lowry (husband James); Melba Sanders (husband Fred) and Mavis Cole. She is preceded in death by sister Lucille, and brothers Art, Don, Mel and Dallas. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, all of whom will greatly miss their "Auntie Renie". Our family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Amber Care Hospice, and St. John Care Center & Rehab for the care (and caring) they provided our sister and aunt. In lieu of flowers, we hope you will consider a contribution to the New Mexico Alzheimer's Association, 9500 Montgomery NE, Suite 121, 87111 or a charity of your choice. Also, please take a moment to visit Irene's resting place-she would like knowing you remembered her. "Blink the porch light so we'll know you're tucked in and safe for the night."
