Dora Saiz

Dora passed away peacefully at her home on March 18th, 2025 at the age of 93.

She was born in Corona, New Mexico to Pete and Estefanita Nuñez.

Dora met and married Fidel Saiz in Corona, New Mexico in 1951 they were married for 69 years and in that time they welcomed their 9 children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

While Fidel was serving his Country abroad, our mother remained home to care for their 9 children.

After our father's retirement they made Duran their home at which time they were Mayordomos for several years at St. John the Baptist Church; she was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society.

For health reasons, they moved to Rio Rancho, New Mexico where they lived for 20 years and were current members of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Dora is preceded in death by her husband, Fidel Saiz; her father, Pete Nuñez, and her mother, Estefanita Nuñez; sister, Theresa Barajas, her brothers, Henry and Pete Nuñez; 2 sons, Fidel Saiz Jr, 1 daughter-in-law, Jeanette Saiz, and Johnny Saiz; 3 son-in-laws Sailo Saiz, Geno Zamora and Joe Sanchez; 5 grandchildren, Perfecto Saiz, Mark Martinez, Nathan Saiz, Christopher Saiz and Sara Saiz; and 1 great-grandson, Mateo Griego.

Dora is survived by 3 sons, Adolph Saiz (Martha) of Clovis, NM, Raymond Saiz (Monica) of Albuquerque, NM, and Jerry Saiz of Clovis, NM; 4 daughters, Alice Saiz (Bill) of Clovis, NM, Dorothy Boggan (Larry) of Estancia, NM, Diana Zamora of Albuquerque, NM, and Frances Martinez of Albuquerque, NM; 23 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

We would also like to recognize and thank Harmony Hospice especially Zoraya, Mila, and Chris for their compassion and continued support.

A Rosary will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1502 Sara Rd. SE Rio Rancho, NM 87124. A mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. followed by a reception at the church reception center. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87102.
