Dora O. Jacobo

Dora O. Jacobo, age 80, a life-long resident of New Mexico, went to be with the Lord, peacefully at her home on September 6, 2015. She is survived by her husband, Manuel R. Jacobo of Albuquerque, NM; daughter Alyce Naranjo and husband John Naranjo of Albuquerque, NM; daughter Cynthia Jacobo and partner Ray Montoya of Albuquerque, NM; son Thomas Jacobo and wife Kris Jacobo of Albuquerque, NM; siblings, Geniva Sanchez and husband Ernest Sanchez of Phoenix, AZ; Tony Otero and wife Rena Otero of Las Cruces, NM; Paul Otero Jr. and wife Delphenia Otero of Albuquerque, NM; John Otero and wife Debbie Otero of Albuquerque, NM. Dora is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Z. Otero and Alice S. Otero, of Carrizozo, NM. Dora enjoyed 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Dora was born in June of 1935 in Corona, NM, and a proud graduate of Corona High School. Dora met Manuel in Las Cruces, NM and they later married. Together they traveled to parts of the world before settling in Albuquerque, NM. They were raising three children when Dora attended and graduated from DeWolff's beauty college. Dora enjoyed her time as a beautician working in the Albuquerque area. Later she worked for J.C. Penny's and the Albuquerque Public School System. Dora enjoyed dancing, fishing, watching football, card games, family, and life. Dora will be deeply missed by those who had the honor of knowing her rich soul, laughter and smile. Friends may visit on Thursday, September 10, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH-Lomas Chapel. Mass will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd NE.
