Dora Gonzales

March 3, 1964 — December 5, 2023

Dora Jean Gonzales, 59, born in Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away at her home in Albuquerque on Tuesday December 5th surrounded by her siblings. Dora had suffered from a long term illness and passed away from natural causes.

Dora received her associates in liberal arts in 1990, and she enjoyed a long, fulfilling career as a dialysis tech. During her childhood Dora enjoyed flamenco dancing, basketball, and soccer. She was an avid purveyor of games, especially card games, and she passed that passion on to her nieces and nephews. Dora was a lifelong lover of art and greatly enjoyed museums as well as creating her own works of art. Throughout her life she shared this love with her friends and family by taking them to art museums, painting with them, and buying art supplies for others to enjoy. Dora loved animals and had so much patience and compassion for them, especially dogs. Her baby was her dog Dakota, who she spoiled and spent as much time with as possible.

Dora's heart was filled with a unique generosity and love for her family. She was dependable and tenacious. Anyone who knew her well knew that she rarely did not say what was on her mind. She is preceded in death by her mom and dad, Jose and Dora Gonzales, as well as her older sister, Joanne Anaya, niece, Emma Gonzales, and her dog, Dakota Joe Gonzales. She is survived by her siblings Jimmy Gonzales (Linda), Johnny Gonzales (Elizabeth), and Judy Reed, as wells as numerous nieces and nephews.
