Donnie Lee Kear

Donnie "Don" Kear of Albuquerque, NM went to be with our Lord on November 10, 2023.

Don was born on March 7, 1936, to parents Clifford and Lillie Kear in Clayton, NM.  Growing up in a small town, Donnie's humble beginnings shaped his down-to-earth nature and unwavering kindness.

Don is a graduate of Clayton High School. It is here where he met the love of his life. On June 14th 1957, Don married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Duckworth. They went on to have two children, Phyllis and Rick.

 After marrying Wanda, he opened his own fabrication shop, Metal Fab Inc., which operated in Albuquerque until he sold it and retired in 1996.

As a father, Donnie was a pillar of strength and guidance. Donnie was deeply committed to his family.  He adored his children unconditionally. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren – who were undoubtedly the light of his life. Grandpa's kind spirit brought endless joy to their lives and hearts during their time together.

Don is preceded in death by his brothers Fred, Dave and Jim Kear.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Wanda Kear; son Rick Kear, daughter Phyllis Waddell and husband Lee Waddle; Grandchildren Shannon Schell, Kelli Schell, Eric Kear, Melanie Ryan and husband Christopher Ryan; four Great-grandchildren Karessa Lackey, Tyler Dawson, Elijah Schell and Trenton Sealey; Sisters-in-law Linda Kear and Pat Kear and daughter-in-law Sabrina Nez.

Services will be held at Del Norte Baptist Church on Thursday, November 16th, 2023, at 10 AM - 5800 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
