Donnelda M. "Munchkin" Simma

Donnelda M. Simma, "Munchkin", age 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, went home to heaven on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. She is survived by her children, Larry Simma and wife, Denice of Birmingham, AL., Linda Wilson and husband, Don of Albuquerque, Pam Hicks and husband, Larry of Silverthorne, CO, Randy Simma and wife, Nancy of Los Lunas, NM, and Mark Simma of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Donnelda was preceded in death by her parents, J. C. and Elda Smith; and sister, Bobbie Kirch. She was born in 1925 in Cushing, OK and graduated from Cushing High School. Donnelda was very active in 4-H and played the violin during her youth. After moving to Albuquerque, Donnelda worked at Kirtland Air Force Base as the Base Commander's Secretary and retired after 30 years of service. She loved her many dogs and the mountains. Donnelda loved to do scrapbooking and collected porcelain cows and Thomas Kincaid items. Her favorite color was purple. She was a long time member of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Ruth Circle. Donnelda was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Services will be Monday, March 16, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy NE 87111. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
