Donald "Don" Robb

d. December 4, 2020

Donald Riley Robb, 95, beloved husband, father, grandfather, grandpa-great, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at home into the arms of his Savior on December 4, 2020.He was the happiest with his family and he influenced the lives of each of them and others by his strong, quiet faith, his unwavering kindness and positivity, and his unconditional love.

Don was born in Indianapolis on November 4, 1925, the first-born son of Harold and Sada (Leatherbury) Robb.  Friday the 13th of December 1946 was his lucky day when he married his childhood sweetheart, Junella (Jenny) Waterman and they were married for 64 years until her passing on November 10, 2011.  They made their home in Albuquerque in 1948 where they raised their four children.

Don was an accomplished artist and worked as the Visual Merchandising Manager at Sears in Albuquerque for 41 years.  He was an active, long-time member of Heights First Church of the Nazarene.  His artwork was his ministry and he used his God-given talents to create countless beautiful Easter cantata backgrounds, Christmas program scenes, church signs, Bible School backdrops, and chalk talk drawings.  He enjoyed annual family road trips and golf, chess, hunting, and fishing with dear life-long friends. Treasured hours were spent with his grandchildren, giving each his undivided attention as they built and painted projects in the garage or sat on his lap and drove his car.

Left to cherish his memory are his children- Linda Brooks, Nancy Dytzel, Brenda (Steve) Sanchez, and Roger (John Borbon) Robb; 10 grandchildren- Rebecca (Mike) Brown, Shannon (Greg) Sanders, Dawna (Shawn) Berkompas, Amy (Kurt) Larson, Billy (India) Dytzel, Stan (Monica) Sanchez, Jeff (Sabrina) Sanchez, Jacque (Eric) Brown, Reid Sanchez, and Tiffany Borbon; 19 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his wife, Junella Joyce Robb; sisters, Patty Rohrer and Mary Jane Chaney; and brother, Harold Robb.

A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. MST and will be live streamed at Frenchfunerals.com to be compliant with the state restrictions.  Rev. Tim Tharp will officiate.

Private interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Billy Dytzel, Jeff Sanchez, Steve Sanchez, Mike Brown, Greg Sanders, and Kurt Larson.  Honorary pallbearers are Reid Sanchez, Stan Sanchez, John Borbon, Eric Brown, and Shawn Berkompas.
