Donald Lee Patz was born to John Patz, Sr., and Cora Irene Peerbolte in Holland, MI, and raised in South Holland, Il. He served in the U.S. Army Airborne Infantry Glider Corps during WWII. He was employed by the Dept. of Defense (civil service), at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his wife of almost 68 years, Fern A. (Weiss) Patz; and by his children, Marvin Lee Patz and wife, Kay of Corinth, TX, Donna M. Hohimer and husband, John of Albuquerque, Darrell G. Patz and wife, Penny of Albuquerque, Alice M. Tibboel and husband, Larry of Los Alamos, NM, and mutually-adopted daughter, Maria G. Sommer and husband, Peter of Redwood City, CA. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. Don was a member of Grace Church of Albuquerque, and served his Lord faithfully his entire life in many capacities. He was an avid supporter of many missionaries and Christian organizations. Don's servant's heart and spiritual gift was that of helping whenever and wherever he could. He was a Sunday school teacher and Elder, a member of mission boards, a board member of Child Evangelism Fellowship of NM; and he performed many other acts of service for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held with the family on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Services will be held Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at Grace Church, 6901 San Antonio Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109, with Pastor Edwin Shepperson officiating. Private burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Don's name to Grace Church in support of Child Evangelism Fellowship of NM or Grace Church Missions Special Needs Fund.
