Donald Moberly

Age 78, passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Saturday, January 26, 2013. Donald was the son to Charles Wayne Moberly and Lois Beatrice Massey Guffey and was born in Ada, Oklahoma in July of 1934. Donald married his beloved wife, Myrna Ruth Sylvester Moberly, August 28, 1959. He is survived by his wife, Myrna Moberly; children, Robert (Bob) Moberly and wife, Jan, Sheri Moon, Julie Smith and husband, Forrest Smith, Thomas Moberly; grandsons, LCDR Brandon Warren (USN); CPT Brent Warren (USA), Elliott Moberly and wife, Sara; great grandchildren, Reed, Logan and Alexus Moberly. Donald is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Craig Moon; parents, Lois Guffey and Charles W. Moberly; brothers, Charles L. Moberly, Jerry Moberly, Kenneth Moberly and Jimmy Moberly. Donald served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Embassy Guard in Portugal and Yugoslavia. He graduated from Pauls Valley High School and attended Oklahoma University and was a graduate of Northwestern University Traffic Institute in 1967. Donald began his law enforcement career as a member of the Hobbs Police Department in 1957. He was commissioned as a New Mexico State Policeman (NMSP) in 1960 and promoted through the ranks to Deputy Chief, retiring in 1985. Donald was a member of Bella Vista Baptist Church in Albuquerque, NM. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Bella Vista Baptist Church, 2800 Louisiana Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Friday, February 1, 2013, 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Don's memory to: Missions, Bella Vista Baptist Church, 2800 Louisiana Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
