DONALD CHARLES MANGINO, SR.Age 77, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Theresa C. Mangino of Albuquerque, NM; children, Victoria Rea and husband, David of Los Lunas, NM, Donald Mangino, Jr. of Farmington, NM; siblings, Robert "Pistol" Mangino and wife, Anna, and Frank Mangino and wife, Mary; sister-in-law, Christine Sebastian; brother-in-law, Joe Pino; and numerous other relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Rose Mangino; and one brother, Michael Mangino. He was born in 1935 in Pueblo, CO and graduated from Raton High School. Don attended the State Police Academy in 1961, becoming a New Mexico State Police Officer for 13 years. He then worked for Kaiser Steel in the coal mines before becoming a Deputy Sheriff in San Juan County from which he retired. Don was a loving husband, father, and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Rosary and Mass will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013, 1:30 p.m., at Saint Patrick-Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 104 Buena Vista St., Raton, NM 87740. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton.
