Donald Joseph MacLeod

Wednesday, February 26, 2020, Donald Joseph MacLeod was called to be with his Lord and Savior, and was reunited with his wife and two sons.  Donald was born on September 17, 1932 in Chicago, IL to John MacLeod and Dona Marie MacLeod.

Donald lived in Moriarty, NM and was formerly of Chesterton, IN where he and his wife raised their seven children.  Donald’s life is a love story.  He loved making everyone laugh; he loved working on cars; he loved fixing everything he could touch; he loved making things for his children and grandchildren, but mostly… he just loved his family.

Donald was predeceased by the love of his life, Barbara Ann MacLeod and two sons, John Charles MacLeod and Donald MacLeod Jr.  Donald is survived by his loving children, Vicki Reith (Dennis) of Grovetown, GA, Marilyn Hewes (Pat) of Las Vegas, NV, Linda Frazier (Larry) of Oskaloosa, IA, Chris MacLeod (Sheila) of Harrisonville, MO, Paula Vasquez (Daniel) of Albuquerque, NM, Patrick MacLeod of Albuquerque, NM, and Joseph MacLeod (Ramona) of Edgewood, NM;  his grandchildren, Barry Schiller, Dustin Thomas, Katherine Hewes, Eileen Hewes, Donald MacLeod, James MacLeod, Kassandra Vasquez, Daniel Vasquez, Augustus Rintula-MacLeod, Caleb MacLeod and Tristan MacLeod;  and five great-grandchildren.

Donald was very proud of his service in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.  Donald’s smile would light up every room he entered.  We are certain he is smiling with his wife and boys in heaven, while he watches over the rest of us from above.  You will be dearly missed!

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH – Lomas.
