passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, February 2, 2014. He was born on February 27, 1935 to Adele and Glen Koppenhaver in San Pedro, CA. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary of Los Lunas; daughter, Rebecca (Anthony) of Los Angeles; two grandchildren, Max and Milo; daughter, Daneen; and son, Craig, both of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Guy Miller. Following his graduation from San Diego State University, Don joined the Air Force and for the next 21 years served his country, spending one year at Phan Rang Air Force Base in Vietnam. Upon his military retirement, he completed a Masters' degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked at Honeywell Defense Avionics until his retirement in 2000. He was a supreme craftsman, avid reader of scientific writings, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to Casa Angelica, 5629 Isleta Blvd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. Services will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014, 9:30 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School Rd. NE, with a reception following at the church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
