Donald "Butch" Evans

Donald "Butch" Evans, 69, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home on September 20, 2018. He was born on January 29, 1949 in Rockford, IL, to Donald and Virginia Evans. He is survived by his wife, Esther Evans; daughter, Michelle Heckroth and husband, Brandon; son, Donald "Jay" Evans III and wife, Brenan; four grandchildren; Tyler and Ben Heckroth, and Noah and Lillie Evans; sisters, Pam Evans and Rebekah Smith and husband, Jim; brother, David Evans and wife, Barbara; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

Butch served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 - 1970. He also was a general contractor, skilled woodworker and flooring installer. He is remembered by family and friends as a very generous man with a kind heart. He created many memories for all that knew him and cared for others as if they were his family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018, 4:00 p.m., at FRENCH – Wyoming. Interment will take place on Monday, October 1, 2018, 3:00 p.m., at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
