Donald (Don) Norris Arnwine, 83, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on December 12, 2023. Don was born on July 28, 1940, to Jack Arnwine and Irmaree Dwiggins Arnwine, on his uncle Ross and aunt Hazel Sires cotton farm in Whitharrel, TX. After graduating from Carlsbad High School in 1959, he started a long and successful career in sales. He started his career in food brokerage sales and then went into wholesale auto parts sales.
In 1960, he met Judith (Judy) Ann Allison of El Paso, TX. They wed in March 1961 and had two children (1962 and 1966). Don and Judy lived in Alamogordo, NM, after they were married. They moved to Silver City, NM, where Sherry was born in 1962. Next, they moved to Carrizozo, NM, then to El Paso, TX, where Joel was born in 1966. Then they moved to Lubbock, TX for a couple of years, finally settling in Albuquerque, NM in 1975.
After retiring in 2000 from Arvin Industries, Don spent time working at various parttime jobs in the automotive parts industry, entertaining friends, manicuring his lawns, growing roses and working in his garden. Don played golf regularly with his golfing buddies, traveling with his wife, working on many home improvement projects around their Albuquerque home. He enjoyed spending quality time with family and his grandchildren. Don loved teaching the kids and grandkids how to drive and telling them about life and what he had learned.
Don was predeceased in death by his father Jack Howard Arnwine, mother, Irmaree Dwiggins Arnwine, sister Patsy Tatum, brothers Jack Arnwine, Kenneth Arnwine, and Blake Arnwine.
He is survived by his wife Judy Arnwine of Albuquerque, Brother Barry Arnwine and wife Vickki of Lubbock, TX; daughter Sherry Godfrey and husband Brad of Tijeras, NM; son Joel Arnwine and wife Traci of North Augusta, SC.
Eight Grandchildren: Andrew Godfrey and wife Lilia of Albuquerque, NM; Daniel Godfrey of Tijeras, NM; Alexandria (Alli) Arnwine of Lubbock, TX; Matthew Godfrey of Tijeras, NM; Alyssa Wright and husband Taren, of Carlsbad, NM; Haley Godfrey of Albuquerque, NM; Brandon Hearn of North Augusta, SC, and Ailee Hearn of North Augusta, SC.
Four Great-Grandchildren: Ariel Clemens of Rio Rancho, NM; Raven Moreno of Albuquerque, NM, and Koleson and Ellyson Wright of Carlsbad, NM.
