Dona Lea Henry

Dona Lea Henry, 86, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. If you knew Dona you know that she lived for and loved her family. The 1973 New Mexico "Mother of the Year" was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 62 years, Gwinn "Bub" Henry; parents, Kennith and Bernice Burgard; and step-father, Walter Plath. Dona and Bub raised five sons, Patrick (Gail), Mark (Catherine), Matt (Lisa), Timothy (Barbara), and Roben (Karen). She was extremely proud of her eight grandchildren, Shelly (Seth) Daigle, Brandon (Brandie), Kenny (Mandy), Kurt, Kyle (Nan), Shannon, Gwinn and Roope; and her seven great-grandchildren, Avery and Luke Daigle, Katie and Morgan, Kelly, Lacey, and Sean Henry. She is also survived by her beloved brother, John Plath (Nadine) and the entire Plath family; and her nieces, Amy Nessly, Jenifer Shell, and Carol Carpenter (Dan). The family would like to thank Elizabeth Eaves and her staff at Angel Wings Home Care for their loving care of Mom. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 5, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle Blvd. SE.
