Don Pope

Age 47, born November 4, 1965, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013. He is survived by his parents, John and Sofia Pope; wife, Lisa; daughter, Tara (Erik); son, Drew; step-sons, Andrew and Shane; step-daughters, Jessica and Brandee; grandsons, Isaak and Jace; sister, Deb (Andy); brothers, Rick (Tiny), Bob, Mike (Maxine) and Steve; nephews, Tim (Evelin), Eric, Mikey, Donovan, Isaiah, Trey and Timmy; special niece, Jessica and daughters, Jennelle, Jennessa and Jennica; nieces, Amelia, Lianna and Lilia; and many more family members and friends. Don was an avid softball player. He was affectionately known as "Dirt" on and off the field. He was a true Cowboy fan, win or lose. Don loved God, his family, softball, his Harley and jerk chicken. He was a Grants High School graduate and an US Army Veteran 1984. A service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Reception will follow at the Albuquerque Garden Center, 10120 Lomas NE. Dirt's family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a potluck BBQ, noon on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Santa Barbara-Martineztown Softball Field, Edith and Mcknight. In lieu of flowers, Don's family requests memorial contributions may be made to The Don Pope Memorial Fund, Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union.
