Dolores "Dodi" Villanueva, age 80, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord Jesus Saturday, March 15, 2014. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Philip; children, Michelle Torrez, Melissa Roveto, Martin Villanueva, and Matthew Villanueva and wife, Lolli, all of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren, Br. Gabriel Thomas Mosher O.P., Jared Mosher and wife, Jill, Justin Torrez y Villanueva and wife, Marina, Janelle Torrez, Lauren Roveto, Jacob Villanueva, and Maddie Villanueva; great-grandchildren, Kierin Mosher, Inigo A. Torrez y Reyes, Jaid Mosher and Jericho Mosher; sister, Elizabeth Padilla and husband, Carmel; and numerous other relatives and friends. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio L. and Agnes nee Baca Alarid; and sisters, Shirley Alarid and Jean Solano. She was born in 1934 in Albuquerque and graduated from St. Mary's High School, class of 1952. After graduation, Dolores worked for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator for ten years before devoting her life to raising her family. She married Philip Villanueva in 1956. Dolores devoted her life to the Blessed Mother Mary and was a long-time member of Risen Savior Catholic Community. She was very committed to her family and had a special place in every heart she touched. Dolores was a beautiful wife, committed mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Rosary will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 22, 2014, 10:00 a.m., also at Risen Savior Catholic Community. Ennichement will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dolores' name to The Western Dominican Province c/o Br. Gabriel Mosher, O.P., 5890 Birch Court, Oakland, CA 94618.
