Dolores Vigil

Dolores (Dee) Vigil, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2024. She was born on August 23, 1933, in Folsom, NM and was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. 

She was employed at Sandia Labs where she made a lasting positive impression on her Supervisors and mentors as she progressed rapidly in the Finance & Accounting field. She and her husband, Boney, retired on the same day after she completed 25 years of service. Their retirement celebration included associates, family and friends that packed the house into "standing room only."

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Boney Vigil, they had 8 children between the two of them, Patricia Chavez (Lou), Joy Chavez Strull (Brian), Gary Chavez, Val Sisneros (Bill), Victoria Sanchez, Virginia Sanchez (Joey), Jude Vigil, Rita Garcia (James Johnson), and 2 sisters Angie and Elsie. They have 16 grandkids and 28 great -grandkids.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents Clorinda and Enrique Gonzales and daughter-in-law Anna Chavez (Gary).

A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 10:00 am followed by a Mass at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont St NE. Her cremains will be interred at Mt. Calvary Cemetery following the Mass. A Reception will follow from 1:00-3:00 pm at the Barelas Community Center located at 801 Barelas Rd SW.
