Dollie Jo "Douglass" Oldham, 92, a resident of Albuquerque died Wednesday, August 26, 2015. She was born in 1923 to Joseph Clifton and Myrtle (Smith) Douglass at Grenville, NM. Dollie was the seventh of nine children all of which preceded her in death. She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Aubrey Oldham; children Bettie Jonell Nelson and husband, Arlo of Albuquerque, Dale Lavern Oldham of Bainbridge Island, WA, and Janis Alene Atkinson of Sterling, CO; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Dollie was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Parker Hartman; and siblings, Lorene Scott, Evelyn Knaub, Robert Douglass, Louise Douglass, June Douglass, Winnie Rice, Frances Smith, and Nellie Denio. Dollie grew up eight miles east of Grenville where she went to school and graduated Valedictorian from the eighth and twelfth grades. After school she worked for the AAA in Clayton, NM until she joined Aubrey Oldham at Ft. Benjamin Harrison near Indianapolis where they were married on February 17, 1944. After WWII Aubrey and Dollie farmed in the Seneca, NM community until they purchased and farmed her childhood home and ranch in the Mt. Dora area near Grenville until 1964 at which time they leased the place and moved to Albuquerque. Dollie worked at Sandia High School, retiring from Sandia Laboratories as a purchasing clerk. "She excelled in whatever she did and went to great effort to teach our children that the example and written word of Jesus and teachings of the New Testament is the path way to eternal life. Dollie was a loving wife, dedicated mother, and supportive helpmate in farming, ranching, real estate and apartment rental businesses." Friends may visit FRENCH-Lomas, Friday, August 28, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at FRENCH-Lomas, Saturday, August 29, 2015, 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. A reception will follow at the FRENCH-Lomas Reception Center.
