It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dianne Gale Whitworth, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Dianne was a skilled seamstress and a beloved singer, who was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 29,2025 at the age of 80.
Born on Thursday, December 7, 1944 in San Antonio, TX. Dianne was the daughter of Arthur and Abbiegail Gurnsey. Throughout her life, Dianne demonstrated a deep faith in God, which was evident in her actions, her love for her family, and her dedication to her work. As a talented seamstress, she became known for her expert craftsmanship in sewing Pendleton coats, a work that was admired by all who wore them. Dianne took great pride in her sewing ensuring that every stitch was made with care, love, and precision.
Dianne worked as the Executive Administrative Assistant for Jaynes Corporation, where she dedicated her career to supporting the leadership team. She retired in 1999 after many years of service. Leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and commitment to excellence.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Dianne had a beautiful voice that brought joy to those around her. She loved to sing, and her songs were a reflection of her deep faith and joy in the Lord. Whether in the church choir or with her family, her voice resonated with warmth and comfort, lifting the spirits of all who heard her.
Dianne was married to her beloved husband Ed for 62 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy and faith and their partnership was a shining example of devotion to each other and to God.
A devoted member of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Dianne was active in church life, and her faith was the foundation upon which she built her life. She believed in the power of prayer and found solace in her relationship with God, which she expressed through her music, her work and her family.
Dianne is survived by her husband, Ed, her son Keith, daughters in law, Rebecca and Jaree, grandchildren, Kayla (Ben) and Cory, great-grandchildren, Brody and Kenna and sisters, JoAnne and Vicki. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aurther (Lucky) and AbbieGail, her brother, Author Jr. and son, Steven.
A memorial service will take place at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Date and time are to be announced.
We find comfort in knowing that Dianne is now in the presence of our Heavenly Father, singing His praises and rejoicing in eternal peace. As Psalmist says, "Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things."---Psalm 98.1
