Dianne Lois Wruck Balow was born March 21, 1944, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, in an Army hospital, to Dorothy and Clifford Wruck. She died on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after a 60-year struggle with rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, and associated conditions.
Dianne was raised in Bensenville, Illinois. In 1962 she met Bob Balow in Franklin Park, Illinois, where they worked together, and they were married on Saturday, August 26, 1967. Immediately after the wedding, they moved to Walnut Creek, California, followed a year or so later by a move to Sunnyvale, California, where they lived for 24 years, and Dianne was a staunch member of the Women's Bible Study Fellowship. In 1991 they moved to Albuquerque, where she and Bob remained for the rest of her life. They joined Sandia Presbyterian Church shortly after their arrival in Albuquerque, where she and Bob contributed significantly to the life of the church. Dianne participated in and hosted bible studies, and established the Prayer Chain at SPC, which is still active today. She loved to knit and create plastic canvas art until her hands became too painful to permit those activities.
She is survived by her sister, Connie Sherwin, Suffolk, Virginia; brothers, Danny Wruck (Michelle), Phoenix, Arizona; and Wayne Wruck, French Village, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. During the last several years of her life, she received wonderful care from the caregivers of Special Live-In Care, and the family is so grateful.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo del Norte, Northeast, Albuquerque, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
