Diann D. Taylor (Mecca), a long-time resident of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. She was 77 years old.
Diann was born on September 3, 1945, in Jersey City, New Jersey, and graduated from St. Michael's High School in 1963.
In 1964, Diann married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Taylor, of Manhattan, NY, and they settled in Levittown, NY to raise a family. There, while Bob worked as a NYC bus driver, Diann raised their children.
After Bob's untimely passing, Diann dedicated her life to raising her two children by herself. In 1980, Diann and her two children moved to Rio Rancho, to be closer to grandparents. She obtained her real estate license and began selling homes with Century 21 and later Allstar Reality. After retiring from real estate, Diann worked as a customer service representative with Sprint until she fully retired in 2012.
Diann was an avid bowler and was a long-time member of a local bowling league. She enjoyed going to the Meadowlark Senior Center to play cards, dominoes, and mah-jongg, and visit with friends and acquaintances. At home, she enjoyed her garden, painting ceramics, was an avid reader and committed Star Trek fan.
Diann is survived by her daughter, Helen and wife, Apryl, and by her son, Robert. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Justin, Skyla, Kian, and Azure.
