Our precious mother, Diane, was born in Alameda, CA on Monday, June 7, 1937 to an Army Doctor and English Teacher. She passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Iva and John Reese; her son, Mark Bode; and her spouse, John R. Bode. She is survived by her children; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; her precious dog, Bear; her brother, Ronald and his wife, Ann; and her sister-in-law, Sue. Diane was a kind, generous, and accomplished woman who would do anything to help. She excelled at everything she tried. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from George Mason University while raising her four children. She became a CPA, worked for large CPA firms, owned and operated Kelly's Kawasaki, was Chief Financial Officer and owner at Bode Aviation, was the first female Vice President of First City Bank, was a model, became a private pilot, owned several businesses, was President of Campfire Girls, and was an adjunct professor at UNM. She especially enjoyed traveling with dear friends, including Kathi and Wallace Henderson who were traveling buddies for over thirty years. She was a lifelong learner, particularly fond of history, languages, and astronomy. She loved flying, scuba diving, windsurfing, and animals. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to an animal shelter of your choice.
