Diana Johnson

June 12, 1930 — April 22, 2013

Our beloved Diana went peacefully to be with her Lord in the presence of her family, Monday, April 22, 2013, following a bold and courageous struggle with cancer. We are eternally grateful to her parents, Keller and Ethyl Jones for bringing her into our world in Detroit, Michigan in what feels to be just a short time ago. Upon graduation from Ottawa University, Ottawa, KS, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Diana became certified with the American Association of Medical Technologists after passing its national exams and thereafter began a professional career as a Medical Technician in Spokane, WA. Her first assignment was in the Bacteriology Department at Deaconess Hospital. Soon thereafter she met Bradley J. Johnson there in Spokane, married, and subsequently started with Bradley the family she prioritized, so adored and came to be known for amongst her family, relatives and friends. Diana eventually gave up her medical career to support her husband's career as an officer in the U.S. Air Force which enabled them to travel and live in England and throughout the U.S. while raising their family. Diana and Brad were happily married and shared 44 beautiful years together until his passing in 1998. Diana loved to travel the world, camp and watch Brad fish. While living in Hawaii and California she painted scores of landscapes, flowers and food remarkably well. She relished snow skiing, was an excellent cook and loved to entertain. Birthdays and holidays with family and friends were always very special to her. She lived with dignity and grace. Diana was a mindful and caring daughter, loyal and supportive sister, loving and devoted wife, adoring and encouraging mother, and a wonderful and reliable friend to many. She felt it an honor to be a mother and a privilege to be a friend. Diana loved our Lord Jesus Christ and was a devout Christian, albeit very human. She will be missed immeasurably! Diana has now joined her beloved husband, Bradley, and their first child, Cheryl Lynn, in heaven; yet leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Steven B. Johnson of Albuquerque, Randal S. Johnson and wife Monica of Los Alamos, and Lance S. Johnson of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Zachary of Albuquerque, Tanner of Los Alamos, Katelyn of Las Cruces, Brandon and Hannah, both of Albuquerque; and her sister, Sharon N. Rude of Waterford Township, MI. Services to celebrate her life and passing will be held Friday, May 3, 10:00 am at FRENCH - Wyoming, with Pastor Ken Moore officiating. Interment will take place at 1:30 pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be grandchildren Zachary Johnson, Tanner Johnson, Katelyn Johnson, Brandon Johnson and Hannah Johnson. In lieu of memorial flowers, Diana preferred that gifts be made to the Eagles' Wings Youth Ranch, PO Box 465, Mountainair, NM, 87036.
