Diana Christine Herman, known to most as Christine, passed away on March 1, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on April 11, 1968, in New Haven, Connecticut, she spent most of her life in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she built a home filled with love, laughter, and an open door to all.
Christine graduated from Highland High School, where she was involved in both the cheerleading squad and the school band, showcasing her enthusiasm and love for being part of a team. After high school, she worked at Dion's where she met Mark, her future husband and the father of her children. Though their marriage ended, they shared 25 years together and remained connected through family. More than anything, Christine was a devoted mother to her two children, Andy and Lindsey, and a second mom to so many others. She was always there for her kids and their friends, hosting soccer team parties, sleepovers, and pool days that became cherished childhood memories. She also took on significant amounts of volunteer work, most notably in her involvement at Albuquerque Academy while her children were students there.
Christine had a deep love for writing and spent many years working on a novel. Though unfinished, it was a reflection of her creativity and dedication to storytelling. She also found joy and strength in endurance sports. A passionate runner and cyclist, she completed several half marathons and 100-mile bike races, pushing herself with determination and grit.
She is survived by her children, Lindsey Herman, Andy Herman and his wife, Tamara; her grandchildren, Eden and Knox Herman; her partner, Greg Hollinger; her younger brother, Ben Stoops; her half-brother, John Siedlarz; and her father and stepmother, Richard and Marilyn Stoops. Christine was preceded in death by her mother, Dale Goulet.
Christine's kindness, warmth, and ability to bring people together will be deeply missed. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, March 14, 2025, 10:00 a.m., at Anchor Point Church, 6751 Pasilla Rd., NE in Rio Rancho, NM, where friends and family are invited to gather and share memories.
