DeWayne A. Lee, 95, of Albuquerque, NM went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 30, 2016. DeWayne was born May 20, 1921, in Pelican Rapids, MN to Leonard and Clara Lee. He graduated from Concordia College in 1943 and went to Oak Ridge, TN to work on the Manhattan Project as a chemist. After a 51-year career at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, he spent his latter years in Minnesota, Arizona, and New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Doris Corbin Lee; his wife of 18 years, Kathleen Megorden Lee; brother Wetzel Lee; and sister Kathryn Elton.
He is survived by his three children: Karen Lee of Pensacola, FL; Paul Lee of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and Jonathan Lee of Albuquerque, NM.
DeWayne served in several churches as an elder, teacher, choir director, and jail minister. He enjoyed sports, especially golf, and played clarinet in concert bands throughout his life. He will be remembered as a gentle, loving man of deep faith who touched many lives.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 101 10th Ave SE, Pelican Rapids, MN. Burial of cremains will follow at Pelican Valley Cemetery.
