Derik Davian Mendoza

Derik Davian Mendoza, age 26, loving father, boyfriend, son, and brother was called to walk with God on Saturday, February, 5, 2022. Derik resided in Albuquerque, NM, where he lived with his girlfriend of five years, Ocean Dodds; and his two children, Brailey Greyson and Azel Davian.

Derik was passionate about music and sports. He embraced adventure. He had a vibrant personality and an unparalleled respect for people. He had an unwavering work ethic and he loved to learn new trades. Derik impacted the lives of those who knew him well and shared his life’s lessons and wisdom with them. Derik’s greatest blessings are his two children who he loved spending time with, encouraging, inspiring, and embracing them with his never-ending love.

Derik was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Gloria Chavez; and his paternal grandmother, Rose Mendoza.

Derik is survived by his girlfriend, Ocean Dodds, and his two children, Brailey Greyson and Azel Davian; his parents, Tamara and Kevin Gallegos, and Don Mendoza; sisters, Shandrea, Trinity and Anaya; brothers, Dylan and Camden; grandfathers, Severo Chavez and Arthur Mendoza; and grandparents, Jim and Mary Ann Gallegos. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family has chosen to hold a private service.
