Dennis S. Pena

Dennis S. Pena was born on June 9, 1935 and died on December 4, 2017. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at FRENCH – University. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, December 7, 2017, 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande, 5901 St. Josephs Dr. NW with Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary.

He graduated in 1957 from the College of Pharmacy at UNM. He was proud of his 60 year profession as a pharmacist. Dennis served in the State Legislature of New Mexico. Dennis retired from UNM Pharmacy Dept. in 2001 but always made himself available to mentor at UNM College of Pharmacy. Dennis was a gifted musician. He volunteered his musical talent at UNM Hospital, Ladera Nursing Home, UNM Alumni events, and special events at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Community.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Angela; his children, Mike, Caroline, Mark and David and wife, Theresa; special devoted and loved granddaughter, Jamie and husband, Ron and children, Dennis, Benjamin, and Kevin; Angela’s children, Michele and husband, Roy and granddaughter, Naomi, Monica and husband, Henry and sons, Eric and Lucas, Mark and daughter, Leah; devoted uncle, Sam and wife, Gladys; and special friend, Dr. Reynaldo Saenz and wife, Lupe.

Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Nazareth Center C/O St. Joseph on RGCC or UNM College of Pharmacy.
