Dennis Dean Lister

Dennis Dean Lister was born in New Castle, IN on December 3, 1944 and there he remained until his family moved to Abq, NM in 1956. He graduated from Manzano High School and was drafted into the military where he joined the Air Force before commencement. After five years of active duty he returned to NM for six more years of National Guard service and worked in various automotive dealerships before settling into almost a 30 year tenure at Rich Ford. From there he worked at several dealerships around town, enjoyed a brief six-month retirement before boredom drove him back for another 10 years at Manheim Auto Auction.  He was an avid racing fan- NASCAR, sprints, and Outlaws, an inveterate tinker who could never let a woodworking, gardening, and especially a mechanic activity lie unattended. He loved to teach and supported many school auto shop projects. His greatest love in life was spending time with family and friends and doing whatever task was at hand.  He had many friends from all walks of life and he will be missed by many.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Janet and Charles Lister; and his older brothers, Pete and Kenny Lister.  He is survived by his wife, Ginny Wildgoose; his son, Doug Lister and wife Shelly; his son, Kristan Wildgoose-Lister and wife Meghan; his daughter, Brianna Wildgoose-Lister DVM; his grandchildren, Blaine, Chance, Mariah, Ciara, and Aubryn; his great-grandchildren, Angela and Lily; his brothers, Marvin Lister, David Lister and wife Debbie; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; and the myriad adored furry, and feathered friends to which he shared his home, love, and life.

Dennis passed away on February 26, 2022 at home in the arms of his loving family. He will be cremated and a celebration of life will be planned for this summer. Those who wish to attend his celebration of life please leave a message for the family with this online memorial.
