Dennis Martin Anaya

April 5, 1975 — October 23, 2013

ANAYA, DENNIS MARTIN Our beloved, cherished, dearly loved son, brother and uncle has left us. Words cannot express how much we will miss him. Dennis was born on April 5, 1975 to Larry E. Anaya, Jr. and Mary Louise Anaya. He attended school at San Felipe de Neri and West Mesa, as well as completing a course at Texas A&M in the field he loved: Unexploded Ordinance Tech. Dennis joined the Army in 2001 and served his four years in Germany, Bosnia and Ft. Stewart, Georgia. In 2004, he moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, and was then reinstated from his inactive duty to deploy to Iraq as a member of an Army unit in Honolulu. Upon returning to New Mexico in 2006, and being honorably discharged, he traveled throughout the country working as an unexploded ordinance tech at various military installations. His favorite job--dismantling bombs. Dennis was a Disabled Veteran. Dennis is survived by his loving parents and his beloved sisters, Carolyn Anaya and Dana Anaya. He is survived by his nephews Adan Anaya and Isaac Salsberry, and his niece Adrianna Lopez. He leaves behind his Special Love, Crystal Romero, and his service dog, Dodger, and Qitti, the cat. He is also survived by his grandparents Larry and Anita Anaya, and great-grandmother Florinda Encinias. Surviving him are his aunt Emily Orosco and husband Frank; his uncles Leroy Encinias and wife Colleen, Andrew Anaya, Robert Anaya and wife Darlene, David Anaya and wife Gretchen, Joe Anaya and wife Liz, Charles Anaya and wife Donna, and many cousins with whom he had close relationships. Dennis was a person who had many life-long friends from every walk of life and from every situation he was ever in, from his childhood, military career, jobs, schools, as well as his buds at the Veteran's Hospital. He had a great and fun sense of humor, with a well-informed life education from the experiences he packed into 38 years. Dennis, how will we get through not talking with you daily or receiving your texted pictures? We will miss you more than words can say and we will always be so proud of you and will always love you dearly. Pallbearers are Adan Anaya, Andrew Sanchez, Daniel Encinias, Manny Anaya, Aaron Anaya and Bobby Castillo. Honorary Pallbearers will be Isaac Salsberry, Damian Casados, Lee Encinias and Guy Thompson.
