DONALDSON, DELMER Delmer Donaldson, 88, longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed from this life on August 1, 2014, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; daughters, Debbie Stocum and husband, John, and Carole Schneider and husband, Fred; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, Tom Storks and wife, Vicki, and extended family members and friends. Delmer served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a fireman first class and was in charge of making drinking water for the ship. He raced anything with wheels including stock cars and motorcycles. He collected and restored open flywheel antique engines and antique tractors. Delmer was the oldest living member of the Operating Engineers Local 953. Friends are welcome to join Delmer's family from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - University on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, to celebrate his life and pay respects. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice, 8100 Constitution Place NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday at 12:45 p.m.
