Della Herrera

Della Herrera, age 90, a resident of Albuquerque since the early 50's went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 24, 2015. She is survived by her sons, Gilberto Herrera, Bill Herrera, wife, Nancy, and Charles Herrera; daughter in-law, Patsy Herrera; three grandchildren, Ronnie, Sandie and Melissa and husband, Richard Browne; five great-grandchildren; special friends, TraciLynn, and Dan Sherman and wife, Lori and their two daughters, Brittney and Courtney; and numerous other relatives and friends. Della was preceded in death by her husband, Joe C. Herrera in 1989; brother, Tomas Gurule; and sister, Nana Sisneros. She was born in 1925 in Canoncito, NM and attended Loretto High School and graduated from Santa Fe High School. After she and Joe were married they moved to CA where she worked as "Rosie the Riveter" while Joe served in the United States Army. After the War they moved back to Santa Fe where she began her retail career working at Woolworth's. After moving to Albuquerque Della continued working part time while raising her children. Her first love was her family and she also loved flowers and gardening. Della was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends may visit on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 1:30 p.m. till Service at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH-Lomas. Interment will take place Monday, June 1, 2015, 12:45 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
