Delia G. Sanchez

Delia G. Sanchez passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.  Delia was born on May 14, 1930.

Delia was extremely loving and proud of her two daughters, Kathy S. Montoya and Debbie Cata and husband, Samuel Cata.

She was known as “Ma” to her four grandsons, Victor and Gabriel Cata, Anthony and Joseph Montoya.  She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, Joe V. Sanchez.

Also, by her brother, Adrian and his wife, Lillian, Joe T. Gonzalez and wife, Bibiana, Ray Gonzalez and wife, Mary, Tony Gonzalez and wife, Arcelia, Barry Gonzalez and wife, Cuca, her sister, Nestora and husband Frank Lozano, and Stella Criswell and husband Pat.

Delia was the last remaining child of parents, Tomás and Rosa María Luchini de Gonzalez.

She is survived by many special nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Pallbearers will be Victor Cata, Gabriel Cata, Joseph Montoya, Rosemary Gonzalez Myers, Abie Parra, and Bill Sanchez.

Honorary pallbearers are Anthony Montoya, Pat Criswell.

Delia moved to Albuquerque to attend business college and there she met her future husband, Joe V. Sanchez.

Her faith in God sustained her throughout her life and love of her husband, daughters, grandsons, Gonzalez family, Luchini family, Sanchez family and many great friends.

She was a very proud and dignified down to earth woman.  She was very secure in her Spanish and Italian heritage.  She was an extremely great cook and loved to cook for family and friends.  She enjoyed reading to always be informed of the issues of the day.

She loved her entire family unconditionally and was always there when needed.

Rest in Peace our Dear Loved One!  You won’t have to suffer anymore.  We will miss you very much, your smile, wit, beauty, and warm welcome that we all received.

Having you in our lives has taught us all lessons and it’s all about Love and Faith.

The Rosary will be recited on Friday, September 18, 2020, 9:30 a.m., with the Mass to follow at 10:15 a.m., at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW.
