Dean Aloysius Korish, born June 27, 1924 in La Crosse, WI, and a longtime resident of Santa Fe and Albuquerque, NM, passed peacefully into Eternal Life with our Lord on June 2, 2014 just after attending daily mass. He loved his family and loved spending time with people. He was always pondering the universe, God's creation. His mantra was "God's Will be done". He was the son of Stephen J. and Esther Drewelow Korish, the husband of Marie Jeanette Korish, and the father of Brian Korish, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Wayne; and his sisters, Eva Boyd, Georgia Blevins and Ruth McCrea. He was a beloved Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. He is survived by his son Michael Korish of Albuquerque, NM; his son Steven Korish and wife Theresa, and their sons Brian and Ian, of South Berwick, ME; his daughter Deanna Holloway and husband Al of Riverton, WY, and their son Kris Holloway and wife Bonnie (sons Harper and Walker), of Celina, TX and their son Billy Holloway and wife Ava (daughters Alex, Caitlin and Jillian, and son Hunter), of Frisco, TX; his daughter Kerrie Sena and husband Patrick, and their son Michael and wife Clare (expecting in July), and their daughter Juanita Pfaff and husband Aaron (daughters Ashlee and Isidora, and son Jude), and their daughter Christa and husband Phill Rogers (son Isaac and daughter NoaRose), and their daughter Emilee Reinholz (also expecting in July) and husband Barry, of Albuquerque, NM; his daughter Sheryl Duran and husband Joe, and their son DJ, and their daughters Amanda, Katrina, and Samantha (grandchildren Antonio and Jazalyn) of Albuquerque, NM; his daughter Jeanie Maisel and husband Skip, and their sons Tanner and Skyler, and their daughter Cassidy, of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by his sister Adeline Ramsey of Salem, OR and his brother Dale of Bend, OR. In his younger days, Dean and his wife Marie "Jeanie" taught Catholic Christian Doctrine at St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral Parish in Santa Fe, and they were members of the Christian Family Movement. He was a staff sergeant in the US Army Air Force and he performed navigation as a member of the Flying Tigers who flew between India, Burma and China, and he was a decorated WWII Veteran (Distinguished Flying Cross, Airman's Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Sharp Shooter Badge). He was a skilled builder and supervised the construction of the original Santa Fe Opera and the Seton Memorial Library at the Philmont Boy Scout Ranch; he was on the architectural team for the design of the Loretto Inn; he helped construct the Nambe Dam; and he was a pioneer in designing and building a solar heated home in the 1950s. He was a senior construction estimator for Johnson Controls for Los Alamos National Laboratory, and was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish. Dad, may God greet you and say "Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant". A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at FRENCH - Wyoming. Sacred Mass will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church located at 2621 Vermont NE, Albuquerque. Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
